Amir Knocks Over Middle Stump Of Navneet Dhaliwal: Pakistan speedster Mohammad Amir continued his superb form in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by knocking over the middle stump of Canada opener Navneet Dhaliwal to give his side a good start in their must-win game.
Pakistan thumped Canada by 7 wickets in New York to record their first win of the competition and keep themselves alive in the race for the Super 8 round.
Amir starred for the Men In Green in their win over Canada, with sensational bowling figures of 2/13 that played a crucial role in Pakistan restricting Canada to 106/7.
Unlike their panic and abject failure to chase a low total against India, Pakistan chased down this target. They did it in 17.3 overs, and with 7 wickets in hand. Mohammad Rizwan scored a run-a-ball 53.
Of course, the Canadian bowlers don’t have the class and experience of the Indian bowlers, and Pakistan should have gotten to the target much quicker to give a boost to their net run rate.

Amir Knocks Over Middle Stump Of Navneet Dhaliwal
Coming to Mohammad Amir, the left-arm seamer gave his side their first breakthrough in the form of opener Navneet Dhaliwal in the third over of Canada’s innings.
Amir bowled a terrific inswinger that pitched in the line of the stumps and straightened just enough to beat the outside edge of Dhaliwal and crash into the middle-stump.

Later in the innings, the left-arm seamer returned to dismiss Canada captain Saad Bin Zafar with a bumper.
Speaking in the post-match presentation, Amir said,
“As a bowler, you have to adapt to any conditions. I was just trying to hit the right areas, the conditions were demanding. As a professional you’ve to be clear in your role, I know I have to bowl with the new ball and at the death, I’m ready for anything. I bowled the awayswinger for 3-4 deliveries, I then decided to swing it back in (on the dismissal of Dhaliwal). Much needed win, we’ve to win the next match and then who knows?”
Pakistan will next face Ireland in Florida in another must-win game.
