USA vs PAK Match Highlights And Report-T20 WC: In one of the biggest upsets in T20 World Cup history, the USA defeated Pakistan in match number 11 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
The turnout at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday for this game was healthy because the home team was playing and Pakistan have sizeable support in this part of the world. But barely anyone would have expected the USA to defeat Pakistan, or even come close to it.
Pakistan were restricted to 159, with their captain Babar Azam playing a horrendous knock of 44 runs in 43 balls. Nosthush Kenjige took three wickets. In the chase, USA were steady but never really got close to sealing the chase. They did, in fact, very well towards the end to manage to tie the game with 12 needed off 3 balls.
In the Super Over, Mohammad Amir bowled three wides and Pakistan were sloppy on the field, giving away extra runs. USA scored 18 in the Super Over, and Netravalkar conceded 13 runs to take his side to a famous win.

USA skipper Monank Patel won the toss and elected to bowl first. Netravalkar dismissed Rizwan in the second over, courtesy of a sensational one-handed catch at first slip by Steven Taylor. Kenjige got rid of Usman Khan in the third over before Ali Khan had Fakhar Zaman caught at short fine leg. Pakistan ended the powerplay at 30/3.
While Shadab hit two sixes to Jessy Singh and one to Harmeet, Babar simply couldn’t get going. He was 9 (23) at one point. Kenjige struck with the wickets of Shadab and Azam Khan in the 13th over. Babar cracked Jessy for a sixer, but the bowler got the Pakistani skipper via an LBW.
Pakistan’s final flourish, a much-needed one, came from Iftikhar Ahmed (18 of 14) and Shaheen Afridi (23* off 16).
