Record Prize Money for T20 World Cup 2024: ICC announced a record prize money for the ICC World Cup 2024, with the winners receiving $2.45 million.
The tournament, which started in 2007, is having its 9th edition now in the United States of America and the West Indies.

While the winners receive a mind-boggling $2.45 million, the runners-up won’t be disappointed, as their purses will be filled with $1.28 million. The semi-finalists will receive $787,500 each, according to the ICC.
Even if a team does not advance from the second round, they will receive $382,500. Those who end up in between the 9th and 12th positions will have $247,500 in their pockets, and those who finish from 13 to 20 on the table will have $225,000.
An additional $31,154 will be received for every win other than the semi-finals and finals.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said that the prize money reflects the historical significance of the event and is hopeful for the event to become ‘Out of This World’.
“This event is historic in so many ways, so it is fitting that the prize money for players reflects that. Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be entertained by the players in what we’re hoping to be an Out of This World event.”
