Nia Jax Wins Queen Of The Ring: WWE Superstar Nia Jax defeated Lyra Valkyria in the final of the Queen of the Ring tournament and will challenge for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
Jax took on Valkyria in the final of the second-ever Queen of the Ring tournament. The match-up was between Nia’s sheer power and Lyra’s technical ability.
On her path to the final, Nia Jax defeated Naomi in the first round, Jade Cargill via DQ in the quarterfinals, and shocked the world by defeating an injured Bianca Belair in the semifinal.
On the other hand, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was promoted to the main roster just a month ago in the draft. In some of her first main roster matches, she defeated Dakota Kai in the first round, Zoey Stark in the quarterfinal, and former Women’s Champions Iyo Sky in the semis to book her spot in the final.

Throughout the match, Nia dominated the rookie Valkyria with her size and power advantage, but the latter did not let the former hit her with any massive moves as Nia failed to connect with any of her signature moves for most of the match.

In the final moments of the match, Nia Jax was stranded standing on the middle turnbuckle, with Lyra trying to hit her with a powerbomb. But in her haste, the rookie failed to see what predicament she was in. As Nia was in place for her Bonzai Drop finisher, she did the mover, crushing Valkyria under her weight and winning the match via pinfall.
Jax was presented the Queen of the Ring crown following the match by WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H. This makes her only the second-ever Queen of the Ring winner in WWE, with Zelina Vega winning the first rendition of the tournament in 2021.
With this win, Nia Jax also booked herself a title match against WWE Women’s Champion Bayley at SummerSlam.
Bayley herself won the title at WrestleMania 40. After winning the Royal Rumble in January, she challenged her fellow Damage CTRL teammate Iyo Sky for the title, defeating the Japanese Superstar in a banger of a match at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
