Ronaldo Thanks Man Utd for His Record: Cristiano Ronaldo has been unstoppable in the Saudi Pro League this season. The 39-year-old netted 35 times in the league in just 31 games. This is the most number of goals a player has scored in the Saudi Pro League in a single season.
Ronaldo also became the first-ever player to be the top scorer in four different countries. The all-time great has become the top scorer for Manchester United in England, Real Madrid in Spain, Juventus in Italy, and now Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo also broke the record for most goals by a player in a single season in the SPL by squashing the current Al Ittihad and former Al Nassr forward Abderrazak Hamdallah’s record. Abderrazak had scored 34 goals back in the 2018–19 season.
The record was shattered in Al-Nassr’s final league match against Al Ittihad, in which the yellow army thumped the latter for 4-2. The big boy Ronaldo scored half of the goals for the winning team, and Al Nassr finished second in the league behind the leaders, Al-Hilal, with 82 points from 34 games.
Ronaldo Thanks Man Utd for His Record
After the match, the proud Ronaldo took to social media, mentioning his unparalleled achievement. He also thanked all his teammates, staff, and the clubs that he played for, which included his former club, Manchester United. This caught the eyes of netizens, as the end-business between CR7 and United was unpleasant.
“Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates, and staff who helped me along the way,” said the 5-time Ballendor winner.
What’s Next for Ronaldo?
The GOAT has a chance to add one more silverware to his name when his club Al-Nassr tests their muscles with arch-rivals Al-Hial in the King Cup final on May 31.
