IPL 2024 Flop Players: The IPL 2024 concluded with KKR lifting their third IPL trophy. Shreyas Iyer’s team dominated the final against Pat Cummins’ SRH in Chennai. This brought an end to the 17th edition of the IPL, and once again, there was no new winner.
The tournament featured the majority of the biggest T20 names in the world. Many high-profile names stood up for their teams when they were required, for example, Mitchell Starc in the playoffs. But there were also a few big-name players who disappointed their franchise and fans the most.
In this article, we will see three of the biggest disappointments of the IPL 2024 season.

IPL 2024 Flop Players: Who Disappointed the Most?
Hardik Pandya
After taking Gujarat Titans to one IPL trophy and one runner-up position, Hardik returned to MI and was given the captaincy right away. However, everyone was left disappointed, as MI finished at the bottom of the points table with only four wins in the season.
Hardik was under par with his individual performances as well. He scored 216 runs at an average of 18. His captaincy was questionable throughout the season.
Glenn Maxwell
While RCB made some great memories to overturn their season and qualify for the playoffs, Glenn Maxwell had a forgettable season as an individual. The Aussie star was expected to do the heavy lifting on batting-friendly surfaces, but he managed to score only 52 runs in nine innings at a dismal average of 5.77. It’s unlikely that Maxwell will be retained by RCB ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction.
Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane had a sensational season with CSK last year, where he made contributions with aggressive batting. However, he couldn’t replicate his performances and numbers from last season to this year. In IPL 2024, Rahane scored 242 runs at an average of 20 and a low strike rate of 123. His failure to provide momentum was one of the reasons for CSK not reaching the playoffs this season.
