Former Player Slams LSG Owner in KL Rahul Issue: Widespread criticisms came out against LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka for publicly humiliating their captain KL Rahul after the drenching loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Goenka was seen scolding the captain even when cameras were absorbing everything.
Many opined that the boss should have had this discussion with the captain in the dressing room behind closed doors.

Former PBKS and DC player Virender Sehwag criticized Goenka for being just profit-oriented by disregarding the players’ well-being. Talking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag said that the ‘owners should motivate players’ instead of pointing fingers at them.
“The owners should motivate players in the dressing room. The moment they start questioning the performances of the players and coaching staff, things turn nasty. You can’t point fingers at any member of the team,” Virender Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.
Sehwag, who played for the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, hit out at Goenka for his behavior.
Sehwag also underlined that without players, a franchise will come down to zero. He exemplified his statement by pointing out what happened to the Punjab Kings after he left.
“They are all businessmen. They only care about profit and loss. He is earning a profit of 400 crore. It is a business for the owners, and they are making a lot of money without doing anything. They don’t care about the players. Their job should be to motivate players. If you behave like this, any player will think of playing for another franchise. If a player leaves, you become zero. When I was with Punjab, they were fifth. They never reached the fifth spot after I left them,” he added.
