Rohit Sharma Breaks Down In Dressing Room: Mumbai Indians star batter and Team India captain Rohit Sharma broke down in the dressing room following yet another poor performance in his most recent match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
MI took on SRH in Match 55 of IPL 2024 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The home team won the toss and chose to bowl first.
On what looked like a decent batting pitch, the first leg of SRH’s batting was not short of a disaster. Travis Head would have been dismissed multiple times but was not (mostly due to luck). Abhishek Varma was dismissed for 11 as the Sunrisers did not reach the score of 30 in the powerplay.

None of their batters stayed in the crease for long. Mayank Agarwal, Head, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Marco Jansen departed before the team reached 100. At the end of the 17th over, SRH had lost eight wickets for 136.
From here, captain Pat Cummins scored a 17-ball 35 to take his team to 173.
In response, MI lost three wickets in the powerplay as Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Naman Dhir were dismissed at the score of 31. Rohit himself scored just four runs before being dismissed by Pat Cummins.

After the dismissal, the camera panned towards the 37-year-old sitting in the locker room, breaking down following what was yet another failure with the bat this season.
Rohit has scored 330 runs in 12 matches this season with an average of 30 and an above-150 strike rate. But this does not show how good of a start he had to his career. He even scored the third century of his IPL career earlier this year against the Chennai Super Kings.
But in the last five matches, Sharma has been severely out of form, as he has scored six, eight, four, eleven, and four runs in the last five contests. His loss of form has coincided with MI’s dismal form in the second half of the tournament.
But MI finally won a match yesterday after four consecutive losses. Despite that win, they are all but out of the race for the playoffs, as they are currently ninth in the league with just four wins and eight points in 12 matches. They will face the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next match on May 11 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
