Former Indian allrounder Mohammad Kaif praised Head’s strategy change and understanding of the game.
“Travis Head played an important innings in the context of the game. The pitch was not easy to bat on at the start of the innings, and he batted according to the situation,” Kaif said.
But the player also mentioned the hypocrisy and bizarre mindset of the critics. According to Kaif, had Virat Kohli played the same innings, he would have gotten slammed again by the pundits.
“However, had Virat Kohli shown the same kind of composure and batted like Head, the strike rate issue would have been hogging all the limelight, with the Indian batter getting slammed again,” Kaif added.
SRH’s next match is in Mumbai, where Travis Head and Co. will be playing the hosts at the Wankhede stadium on May 6 while Virat Kohli will have a home ground face-off with Shubman Gill’s GT tomorrow.
