DC’s late runs came from an unexpected source: Kuldeep Yadav. Kuldeep got a boundary each off Narine and Varun before he smoked Starc for a six and a four. He also hit Russell for two fours in the last over as DC avoided getting bowled out.

A target of 154 was unlikely to challenge KKR, not least with Salt in a murderous form. Salt and Narine got going with a 23-run opening over from Lizaad Williams. Salt then thumped Williams for two consecutive sixes before the pair took three fours of Rasikh Salam. Salt tore into Khaleel for 18 runs to end the powerplay at 60 (28), with KKR racing to 79/0.
Axar got both Salt and Narine after the powerplay, and Williams returned to dismiss Rinku. There was, though, no miracle comeback for DC as Shreyas Iyer (33* off 23) and Venkatesh Iyer (26* off 23) took KKR over the line with 21 balls to spare.
