Cricketers Ask Fans to Not Treat Kohli As A God: We may have well known the fact that too many expectations might result in too much disappointment. This is exactly happening with RCB superstar Virat Kohli. As people expect him to play the perfect innings in every possible match, which he does almost every time, a small flaw disappoints them, and this later turns into social media rants against the cricketer.
The saddening thing is that even some of the critics are failing to see the reality of the game and lashing out at the legend sitting inside the box. Kohli, after the GT win, had slammed the critics over the unreasonable comments.

Now former cricketers Mohammed Kaif and Navjyot Singh Sidhu back Virat Kohli. Kaif thinks that it’s normal to slow down the innings during the middle overs, as the spin plays a major role in reducing the economy.
“Lately, there’s been a lot of focus on strike rates. People are criticising Kohli for slowing down between overs 7–15, but it’s normal. Spinners have lower economy rates because they operate in the middle overs,”
Mohammad Kaif said.
Sidhu asks people not to see Kohli as God and to give him human consideration. Praising the amazing talent that Virat Kohli has, he also said that having Virat in the squad would improve other players too.
“Everyone believes Kohli is God, but he is a human and will have good and bad days like anyone. He shouldn’t be treated like God because it is then that expectations reach unimaginable levels. Rather than overly criticise him, let’s appreciate that he has scored 80 centuries. He is an exceptional batter and has no weaknesses. Hitting left-arm spinners against the spin and playing off the backfoot to loft requires tremendous hand-eye coordination. He cherishes his wicket and has a commanding presence. While he can improve, as all players do, Kohli has already accomplished so much at such a young age. We should recognise his abilities while accepting that he will make mistakes at times,”
Navjot Singh Sidhu said.
