LSG vs RR Match Highlights And Report-IPL: With a terrific knock of 71* (33) that helped the Rajasthan Royals achieve the target of 197 with six balls to spare against the Lucknow Super Giants, RR captain Sanju Samson provided a timely reminder to the BCCI selectors about his prowess. Samson and Dhruv Jurel’s half-centuries overpowered those of KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
RR are all but in the playoffs, having won 8 out of 9 matches this season so far, and now they would be eyeing the top-of-the-table position.

Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was a perfect start for LSG as Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma knocked the stumps of Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis, respectively, in the first two overs.
Rahul and Hooda got into the rebuilding act with six fours in the next four overs to end the powerplay at 46/2. Soon, Rahul went after Avesh Khan with two sixes and a four. Hefty overs started to come: Chahal and Boult leaked 45 runs in three consecutive overs, but Ashwin struck with the wicket of Hooda, who scored 50 (31), to deter the momentum.
While Rahul kept pegging at one end, LSG lost Nicholas Pooran for 11 before the death-overs started. Rahul’s wicket, for 76 (48), in the 18th over was a big blow to LSG. Badoni and Krunal’s partnership of 23* (16) ended LSG at 196.

In the chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal disdainfully smacked Matt Henry for a six and a four in the first over, while Buttler also cracked the kiwi for a maximum. Both RR openers collected some fours and provided a good start with 60 in 5.5 overs before both were dismissed in succession. The in-form Riyan Parag was outfoxed by veteran Amit Mishra.
RR were in a precarious position at 78/3 at the 9-over mark. However, Samson and Jurel didn’t go in their shells and instead counter-attacked their way to victory. After both taking a few balls to settle down, they took 17 off Yash Thakur and 20 off Mohsin Khan.
The chase hung in balance when RR needed 53 in the last five overs. Samson opened up his arms further to bash Bishnoi for two fours and a six, and smoked a couple of sixes to Mohsin, reaching his fifty in 28 balls.
By the end of the 18th over, with RR’s score being 186, mere formalities remained. Samson sealed the chase with a six on the last ball of the 19th over. The RR captain remained unbeaten on 71 (33) and Jurel on 52 (34) as RR collected two more points.
