Rayudu Picks the Most Loyal Fanbase in IPL: Former Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians batter Ambati Rayudu has applauded the loyalty and commitment of the RCB fans toward their franchise despite not winning a single title.
While there are teams like Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals who also haven’t won a single IPL trophy in 16 seasons, their fanbases on and off social media are nowhere near compared to RCB, even though the RCB men’s team too haven’t lifted the trophy once.
The RCB franchise has built its brand around superstar players—first Rahul Dravid and Anil Kumble, then Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers, and now they have the likes of Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell on their side.
However, despite boasting some of the best T20 batters on the planet, RCB haven’t won a single trophy yet; they have reached the final thrice and lost on all three occasions. Their last appearance in an IPL final was in 2016 when RCB lost to David Warner’s SRH at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Year after year, the RCB fans throng to the Chinnaswamy Stadium to fill it and show their support in the stands and on social media, even though the franchise is yet to win a single IPL title.

“Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Fans Are Amazing”: Rayudu Picks the Most Loyal Fanbase in IPL
This loyalty from the RCB fans earned them the respect of six-time IPL winner Ambati Rayudu, who played for the two most successful IPL franchises.
Ambati Rayudu said,
“Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s fans are amazing. The franchise hasn’t lifted the trophy since the first season but they continue to back the players. They don’t leave their players. I think RCB have the most loyal fanbase in the Indian Premier League. It is lovely to see fans coming to the stadium and filling it.”
RCB are having perhaps their worst time in the IPL in the ongoing IPL 2024 season, where they have lost six out of their first seven matches, and their bowlers have been too ordinary for a T20 league like the IPL. Their latest thrashing came against SRH, when the SRH batters amassed 287 runs!
RCB fans stayed till the end to see Dinesh Karthik score 83 runs and put in a fight. RCB reached 262, which is the highest total in the IPL while chasing, yet fell 25 runs behind SRH’s total.
Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan praised the RCB fans.
Irfan said,
“They knew that their franchise was not going to chase down 288 against SRH, but they enjoyed the batting of their team. The fans were dancing despite knowing their team is out of the contest. It is not about this year, this is the story of every season. Fans have rallied behind the team and the players. They trust their players with hope that they will win IPL trophy one day.”
