PBKS vs RR Match Highlights And Report-IPL: Chasing 148, with 10 runs needed off four balls, Shimron Hetmyer went 6, 2, 6 against Arshdeep Singh to help the Rajasthan Royals over the line in a low-scoring game in Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
Both teams combined were missing three big stars: Shikhar Dhawan, Jos Buttler, and R Ashwin due to niggles. Yet, they provided a low-scoring thriller that was won by the Royals on the penultimate ball of the match. No batsman across both sides managed a half-century; the highest score of the game was only 39.
With this victory, RR bounced back to winning ways after losing their only game of the season in their previous match, and they continued their stronghold on the top position in the points table. Punjab Kings are placed 8th with 2 wins and 4 losses.

Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bowl first, and PBKS got off to a terrible start. Atharva Taide, opening in place of the injured Dhawan, Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Sam Curran were all dismissed cheaply and were back in the hut inside 10 overs with only 52 runs on the board.
Keshav Maharaj dismissed two of them. The left-arm South African spinner finished with impressive figures of 2/23. Shashank Singh (9) was the next to go, off Kuldeep Sen.
Jitesh Sharma got some runs under his belt for the first time this season, scoring 29 runs in 24 balls, and he supported Liam Livingstone, who scored 24 runs in 14 balls. But the final kick to Punjab’s innings was provided by 25-year-old Ashutosh Sharma, who blasted three sixes and four in his breezy knock of 31 (16) to take PBKS to 147.

Tanush Kotian, opening in place of the injured Buttler, found life difficult in the IPL as he dragged in his innings of 24 runs in 31 balls, forming an opening partnership of 56 (50) with Jaiswal, who top-scored in the match with 39 runs.
Kagiso Rabada was on the money with the wickets of Jaiswal and Samson (18 off 14), and the South African speedster conceded only 18 runs in his four overs. The required climbed more than what RR would have hoped for, courtesy of their score being 90/3 in 14 overs. The in-form Riyan Parag, too, didn’t find it easy to hit boundaries: he scored 23 (18) with only one four and a six.
The momentum started to tilt toward RR in the 18th over when, although Harshal Patel dismissed Dhruv Jurel, RR collected 14 runs off it, leaving 20 runs to be scored in the last two overs.
Rovman Powell put RR in front with two fours on the first two balls of the 19th over, but Sam Curran took the West Indian out and followed it with the wicket of Maharaj.
With 10 runs to defend off six balls, Arshdeep started brilliantly with two dot balls in the block hole. However, he missed his mark on the third delivery, and Hetmyer duly dispatched the full ball for a six down the ground.
He took a couple on the next ball toward long-on before hitting a leg-stump full toss for a six over fine leg to seal Rajasthan’s fifth win of the season. Hetmyer was handed the Player of the Match award for his blast of 27* (10).
Score summary: Punjab Kings 147/8 in 20 overs (Ashutosh Sharma 31, Keshav Maharaj 2/23); Rajasthan Royals 152/7 (Yashasvi Jaiswal 39, Kagiso Rabada 2/18). RR defeated by PBKS by 3 wickets.
