MS Dhoni Hammers Anrich Nortje For 2 Sixes: MS Dhoni vs Anrich Nortje: With his long mane, MS Dhoni brought back the Dhoni of old as he smoked fast bowler Anrich Nortje for two sixes and two fours in a 20-run over during the CSK vs DC match in Visakhapatnam.
Even though CSK lost the match by 20 runs, Dhoni-mania swept up the fans, and Nortje, with the 42-year-old’s epic power-hitting display against one of the fastest bowlers in the world.
MS Dhoni came in to bat at number 8 with CSK’s score of 120/6 in the 17th over while chasing 192. The match was effectively in Delhi’s pocket by then, but everyone had been patiently waiting for the grandest act of the game: Dhoni’s batting. The CSK legend made all the wait worth it as he blasted 4 fours and 3 sixes in his innings of 37* runs in 16 balls.
On the first ball that he faced, Dhoni pulled Mukesh Kumar for a four. A ball later, he drove the seamer through the covers. In the next over, Dhoni lofted Khaleel for a maximum over extra cover.

With CSK needing 41 runs in the last over, Dhoni tore into Nortje. The first ball was blasted through the off-side before he launched Nortje’s low full toss for a one-handed six over mid-wicket. Two balls later, Dhoni hit another low full toss over mid-on for a four. He finished the innings in typical MS Dhoni fashion: a thunderous sixer, over extra cover.

CSK head coach Stephen Fleming said Dhoni, who doesn’t play domestic cricket, had been hitting well in the pre-season camp, and he brought the same to the field against Delhi.
Fleming said after the match,
“It was beautiful, wasn’t it? And even the one-handed one over midwicket. He has been playing incredibly well in the pre-season. He’s coming back from quite a serious operation.
The CSK coach added,
“He has been rehabbing well and his batting has been superb. And that performance gave a positive vibe towards the end of a tough day. So, to get to within 20 [runs] is important run-rate wise and the way he played was spectacular.”
