Mumbai Indians Fans Shower Praise At Rohit Sharma: Rohit Sharma received a warm welcome from fans ahead of Mumbai Indians’ first home game in the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League.
We are now 10 games deep into the ongoing season of the IPL and things are not looking good for MI at this point. Out of the two matches they have played this season, they have lost both of those matches.
Their most recent match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the latter’s home ground Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium saw SRH break the record of highest IPL score when they notched up a mammoth 277 in 20 overs. Despite a good batting performance by the Indians, they lost the match by 31 runs.

When MI arrived at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, fans could be seen showering Rohit Sharma with praise and admiration. Several chants were targeted towards the former team captain as fans shouted “Rohit sir is the best.” “Rohit, all the best.” “I love you Ro!” “Hello Hitman.” The 37-year-old appreciated the fans’ love for him.

Will Rohit Sharma Regain Mumbai Indians Captaincy
Named captain of the franchise midway through the 2013 season, Rohit Sharma led MI to their first title that very season. Since then, under his captaincy, the Mumbai-based franchise has become the joint-most successful team in IPL with five titles to their name.
Ahead of the 2024 season, Sharma was unceremoniously removed from MI captaincy and a returning Hardik Pandya was put in place instead.
While MI has not had the best start of the tournament with two losses on the trot, it must be noted that Mumbai Indians have come back from far worse starts to the competition only to win the tournament.
As for Rohit Sharma, he has looked good in both of MI’s matches so far. Against Gujarat Titans, he scored 43-off-29 and the batting struggled after his dismissal. Against SRH, he got off to a great start with 26-off-12 before he was dismissed.
Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Mumbai Indians will be looking to open their wins column in IPL 2024 when they take on Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on April 1.
