Ashwin recently celebrated his 100th Test match, joining an elite group of Indian cricketers. However, former spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan attempted to congratulate him, but Ashwin didn’t respond to his calls or messages. Sivaramakrishnan expressed his disappointment on social media, feeling that former cricketers deserve more respect.
“Tried calling him a few times to wish him for his 100th Test. Just cut off my call. Sent him a message, no reply. That’s the respect we former cricketers get,” the former India spinner wrote on X.
Ashwin hilariously responded by uploading Sivaramakrishnan with the line ‘Call me please’’ on it. Ashwin captioned it “Ok, sir, after deciding when and where.”
When someone asked Sivaramakrishnan if he had received a call from Ashwin, he gave a blunt answer, saying,
“He is not the most important person in my life.”
