Sanju was once vocal about this, and then he understood that speaking against the board would least likely help him get into a team run by it. Ever since the boy from Kerala has concentrated purely on the enhancement of his performance, and the results are turning out to be great. Sanju scored a century in India’s last series in South Africa when every other batter failed miserably.
Sanju Samson on His Team Indian Selection: ‘Has to Do Something Special’
Speaking ahead of the IPL, Sanju talked to Star Sports regarding this matter. He said that ‘a guy from Kerala has to do something special to cement his place in the Indian team’.
“When you are playing cricket for the world’s number one team, you need consistency. A big pool of players is eyeing to play for the Indian team. A guy from Kerala has to do something special to cement his place in the Indian team because of the number of players and competitions,” Samson told Star Sports on their show Star Nahi Far.
Samson also revealed that he always wanted to hit a six on the very first ball to stand out from Others. He said he didn’t understand the concept of waiting until the 10th ball to hit a six. This mentality has definitely enhanced his power-hitting, as per Sanju.
“I always wanted to outperform others by hitting a six on the first ball I faced. I wanted to do something different. Why do we have to wait for 10 balls before hitting a six? This thought process developed my power-hitting.”
Sanju is the most skilled wicketkeeper team India have. And he is ready to do something ‘spectacular’ for the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024.
“I have been working hard for a long time and the results are positive. I want to do something spectacular for the side I play for. I am never satisfied,” Sanju Samson concluded.
Sanju has been incredible as a skipper for the Rajasthan Royals so far. The player took them to the final of IPL 2022, where they lost to the Gujarat Giants.
