Hogg Says Yashaswi Needs to Change His Game: Former Aussie spinner Brad Hogg is thrilled with the way India’s young players have performed against the aggressive English pace. Hogg, who had played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, is the oldest player (44 years old at the time) ever to feature in an IPL game.
Hogg Says Yashaswi Needs to Change His Game
Yashaswi Jaiswal had been incredible in the 5-match Test series against England. The 22-year-old amassed 712 runs in the series with two double tons which made him the player of the series. By now, from 9 Tests, he has bagged 1028 runs with a stunning average of 68.5. But Hoggs thinks that this might not be enough to play against Australia in Australia.
“Jaiswal played well against England. He will be visiting Australia in December. He will have to use the pace to play hook and pull shots instead of hitting the ball hard. If he wants to play aggressive shots against the Aussies, he needs to add more strokes to his batting arsenal,” Brad Hogg said.
But Hogg thinks that Sarfaraz Khan, who played his debut international Test against England, is ready for the Australian heat.
“I was worried about his game against the pacers. But he played fine against sheer pace in the fifth and final Test against England. He has worked on his game and is ready to take on Australia in Australia with some of the pull shots.”
