Paul Pogba Banned for 4 Years: Juventus football star Paul Pogba has been banned for four years following the player testing positive for doping.
As per the request of the Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office, the Anti-Doping Tribunal (TNA) accepted the ban, and Pogba wouldn’t be able to play until August 2027.
Pogba will appeal the verdict in the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) in Lausanne.
Paul Pogba Banned for 4 Years: Full Story
Pogba was initially suspended in September 2023 after a foreign substance was found in his blood after Juventus battled Udinese on August 20. The substance was dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), which induces the production of hormones in the body, primarily testosterone. The player had applied for a re-test, and the results weren’t different.
What’s Next for Pogba
Pogba is 30 years old, meaning he will be 34 once the ban is lifted. This casts a shadow on his career dreams. But there is a provision for the players to prove that the intake of the substance was accidental, and this would reduce the ban period.
