India Defeats England By 434 Runs: India has defeated England and has taken a 2-1 lead in the series off the back of excellent performances by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravindra Jadeja.
It was Day 4 of India’s 3rd Test of the five-match series against England in the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, Gujarat. The hosts dominated the day. Going into Day 4, India were 207/2 and had a commanding 233-run lead.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was retired hurt after scoring a century on Day 3, took to the field after Shubman Gill was run out on 91. Jaiswal jabbed back at the English bowling attack, hitting them all over the park in what looked like an ODI innings.
‘Jaisball’, as many have come to call it, saw the 22-year-old opener score his second double-ton in two matches. He was supported by the latest Indian to impress on an international level, Sarfaraz Khan. He became only the fourth Indian to score half-centuries in both innings in his debut match.

With 40-or-so overs left in the day and a whole other day left, England was not looking for a draw. Baseball as a style of play does not allow for that. But a bucket of icy water was thrown on the fiery ambition of the English when they lost two wickets for 18 runs before tea.
The onslaught of Indian bowlers continued in the final session of the day as hometown hero Ravindra Jadeja came on to bowl. England lost wickets at regular intervals. They didn’t even look to attack as their style dictates, but to survive against the Indian bowling attack.
