IPL 2024 RR 3 Players To Watch Out: Rajasthan Royals have perpetually been an underperforming team in the IPL. Despite having a very talented squad for much of their history, they have only made it to the playoffs, they have only made it to the playoffs on five occasions.
The inaugural champions of the IPL were arguably one of the favourites to win the league last season, but losing a bunch of matches in the latter stages of the tournament meant that the team from Pink City didn’t even finish top four.
Their recent success has been their second-ever finals appearance in the 2022 season, where they lost to first-time winners Gujarat Titans, who became only the second team to win the league in their first season, with the Royals themselves achieving the feat in 2008.

1) Yashasvi Jaiswal
When he was bought by Rajasthan Royals in 2020 after a successful U-19 World Cup campaign, Yashasvi Jaiswal had the weight of massive expectations on his shoulders. Over the next two years, he did show glimpses of the brilliance that was clearly there. But 2023 was the breakout season for the Mumbai-based batter.
Last year, he took the IPL by storm, scoring a whopping 615 runs with an average of over 8 and a strike rate of 163.61. That was followed by his maiden India call-up and cap. In his Test debut against the West Indies, he smashed 171 runs.
Since then, Jaiswal has become a regular part of the squad, further cementing his place in the side with an incredible 200 in the 2nd Test match against England in 2024. Now one of the biggest rising stars in Indian cricket, Jaiswal will be opening in a very strong batting order for Rajasthan Royals in his fifth season with the franchise.

2) Nandre Burger
After a long and decent domestic career, Nandre Burger burst onto the scene in 2023 playing for the Johannesburg Super Kings in the SA20 league. Later that year, he made his debut for the South African national team in all three formats against India.
In the second ODI against the Men in Blue of the three-match series, he impressed by taking three wickets, playing a big role in his side’s win in that match. The IPL auction, which happened just before that match, saw the Royals buy Nandre for Rs. 50 lakh in the accelerated final round.
Having since impressed in the Test series against India as well, Nandre Burger might not play a lot of matches in his first IPL season. But bought as a replacement for Trent Boult, Burger can bowl impactful yorkers and mix things around to pick up wickets. He can also bowl at over 90 mph

3) Dhruv Jurel
Having recently gotten his first India call-up in the ongoing Test series against England, Dhruv Jurel has gathered attention from the wider cricketing world. But the first time a majority of cricket fans saw what the wicketkeeper-batter has to offer in the 2023 IPL when he played for the Royals.
Last season, Jurel became the finisher that Rajasthan Royals needed due to Shimron Hetmayer being out of form. While he did just score 152 runs with an average of 21.71 in 2023, he did so at a strike rate of 172.73.
A talented wicketkeeper, Dhruv Jure is a diamond in the rough and a test of whether the Royals can take all this talent and polish him into a world-class finisher. While all eyes will be on Dhruv Jurel this season, it will be a massive test for Rajasthan Royals in how well they use and develop someone who would be a generational finisher for the franchise.
