Temba Bavuma Comments On Semifinal Loss
After losing the match by 3 wickets and thus failing to win a semi-final for a cruel 7th time, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma had this to say in the post-match ceremony –
“Quite hard to put into words. Congrats to Australia, all the best for them in the final. They were outstanding for a large part of the game and thoroughly deserved victory. [Fight] Our character came through. It was a dog fight. The way we started with the bat and the ball was probably the turning point, we lost it quite badly there.”
As per the Temba Bavuma Comments On Semifinal Loss, Batting first had been the key to success for South Africa in this World Cup, but the cricketing gods had other plans for the men in green. They lost their top order for very cheap, with the score being 24/4 at the 12-over mark.

It was David Miller’s fighting hundred that pushed South Africa to a somewhat respectable score of 212. But that total seemed severely under par when Australia raced to 50 runs in six overs without losing a wicket.
The match became a nail-biter as soon as spinners were introduced. First, Aiden Markram bowled David Warner, and then Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi came into play. As per the Temba Bavuma Comments On Semifinal Loss, While pacer Gerld Coetzee did give a gritty performance, bowling 150 with a cramped leg, it was the spinners who made each ball a contest.
But it seemed the total to defend was too small. A quick 60 by Travis Head, a resilient 28 by Josh Inglis, and [atient innings by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cumming were enough to do the trick for the Aussies.
Having qualified for their 8th CWC final, Australia will take on an undefeated India in the final of the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The match will be a repeat of the 2003 CWC final and will be played in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, November 19.
