The Dream Torn by an ACL Tear: Ebadot Hossain out of the World Cup due to injury
Ebadot Hossain out of the World Cup due to injury: Ebadot’s absence is a blow to the Bangladesh team, as he had emerged as a critical player in their bowling attack. The 29-year-old suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury during the ODI series against Afghanistan last month. BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin expressed disappointment over losing Ebadot and highlighted the impact of his absence on the team.
“It’s a big blow for us as he will require operation for his knee. Following the operation, he will certainly take some time for rehabilitation purposes, at least three to four months, so we cannot consider him for the World Cup,”

Ebadot’s absence raises questions about the team’s bowling strategy. His role in the middle overs was crucial, allowing other bowlers to operate with the new ball. His pace and effectiveness in the middle overs will be challenging to replace. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, and Shoriful Islam are potential options to fill the void left by Ebadot’s absence, but how well they can replicate his impact remains to be seen.
As Ebadot Hossain out of the World Cup due to injury, Bangladesh’s head coach, Chandika Hathurusingha, and ODI captain, Shakib al Hasan, expressed their disappointment over Ebadot’s unavailability. Both emphasized his significance to the team’s success and expressed the challenge of finding an immediate replacement for such a vital player.
“Ebadot is one of our impact bowlers, the fastest bowler out of the five fast bowlers we played in the last few series. So, it’s a big loss, and to replace him straight away it’s a hard task,”
Coach
As the World Cup approaches, Bangladesh will have to regroup and adapt its bowling strategy to overcome the absence of Ebadot Hossain, a player who played a crucial role in their recent campaigns. The team’s ability to find an effective replacement for his role will play a pivotal role in their World Cup campaign.
