Ebadot Hossain ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023: An ACL Injury That Shattered the Asia Cup Dream
Ebadot Hossain ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023: Ebadot got an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury when Bangladesh was playing an ODI series against Afghanistan last month. After that, it wasn’t clear if the right-arm pacer would get fit for the Asian Games. But again, in the latest assessment, the doctors suggested that a six-week rest would be required for him to be completely fit. As the much-anticipated World Cup is here in two months, the Bangladesh Board decided not to take any risk as the pacer would be an asset for them in the tournament.

“Ebadot had undergone six weeks of rehab following the injury,” said Dr. Chowdhury. “We have had multiple MRIs done during this time, and the reports suggest that his ACL is still a concern and requires further management. Therefore, he misses out on the Asia Cup.” He also said that it is a ‘safe medical option’ to give Ebadot rest to get him playing in the crucial upcoming World Cup.
“Considering the importance of the Bangladesh team’s next major event, which is the ICC World Cup in October, the BCB is committed to exploring every safe medical option available for getting Ebadot back to full fitness and playing as early as possible, including consultation and treatment overseas.”
Tanzim’s Statistics
As Ebadot Hossain ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023, Tanzim Hasan got the dream call-up for the international side. Tanzim has never played a game at international level for the senior side, and it would be a dream come true for the 20-year-old. Having said that, he has been incredible in A-listed games, bagging 57 wickets in 37 games. Nine of them were acquired in the recently curtained ACC Emerging Men’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
