Mumbai Indians secured their first win of the season by defeating Delhi Capitals with six wickets in a thrilling Match of DC vs MI in TATA IPL 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, thus earning their first points on the table.
MI’s bowlers Piyush Chawla (3/22) and Jason Behrendorff (3/23) took three wickets each, restricting DC to 172. MI’s captain Rohit Sharma then played a brilliant knock of 65(45), leading his team to a thrilling victory off the last ball of the match.

Rohit Sharma gave MI a breezy start in their chase of 173, hitting a couple of fours and a six off the first over from Mukesh Kumar. Ishan Kishan also started aggressively, hitting three consecutive fours off Mustafizur Rahman. Although Nortje nearly got Kishan out first ball with an inside edge, it flew inches wide of the off stump for a four. Rohit, on the other hand, connected a couple off the middle, flicking one over mid-wicket for a six and then cutting one wide of third man for a four to make it 15 from the over.
In the fourth over, Warner introduced spin into the attack and Lalit Yadav bowled an excellent over, conceding just seven runs, including a four off an outside edge of Kishan. MI reached their 50 from 4.2 overs. The duo did not let Axar settle down as they hit a four each, making it 10 from the over.

In the second over, Axar bowled tightly and only gave away two runs.
