3 Players To Watch In ENG vs BAN CWC Match 7: England vs Bangladesh will take on each other in the 7th Match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Here, we will be looking at three players to look out for in this match.
3 Players To Watch In ENG vs BAN CWC Match 7
1) Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is arguably the best white-ball batsman in the world at the moment. The England captain is expected to be in the race for the highest run-scorer in the upcoming 2023 World Cup. A batter with no discernible weakness against any specific kind of bowling, Jos can pace up or slow down an inning whenever his team requires.
Buttler has been a terrific ODI batsman for the past couple of years. In 2022, his average was over 57 in the format, and this year, it has been over 60. He is also one of the most consistent wicket-keepers in the world.
Jos Buttler’s record in India is nothing to scoff at either. For a resurgent Rajasthan Royals in the last two seasons of the IPL, the English captain has been the franchise’s only consistently in-form batsman. In the 2022 season, Buttler scored 863 runs, which included a record four centuries.
2) Taskin Ahmed
Not only is Taskin Ahmed Bangladesh’s senior-most pacer, but he will also spearhead the team’s bowling line-up in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The 28-year-old bowls from high up with his 6-foot-2 frame. He is also one of the fastest bowlers in Bangladesh’s history, regularly clocking speeds of over 145 km/h.

Taskin Ahmed has found some form coming into the 2023 World Cup. He took nine wickets in his four appearances in the recent Asia Cup. As far as ODIs are concerned, he has taken 21 wickets in 10 innings in 2023.
Taskin, along with pacer Mustafizue Rehman, will play a vital role in an otherwise spin-heavy side that is Bangladesh, especially when they are expected to find some pace-friendly pitches.
3) Harry Brook
One of the most exciting prospects in today’s cricket, Harry Brook was initially not a part of the World Cup squad. This caused a massive stir amongst the followers of English cricket. This shows how highly regarded Brook is amongst fans and experts alike.
An insane average of over 40 in test matches is only compounded by his above-150 strike rate in T20 cricket. Looked by many as a genuine 3-format player, Harry Brook has entered the conversation of the new breed of elite international batter (in the vein of the Fab-4 today). One of the cleanest strikers of the ball today, Brook has the power and the elegance to become a superstar as soon as the upcoming World Cup.
Harry Brook did score a century in the 2023 IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad, his first foray into India at the highest level, but his poor performance across the rest of the tournament showed his clear weakness against spin. This is something that the 24-year-old has to overcome if he is to truly shine on the world stage.
