Yuzvendra Chahal 1st Indian To 350 T20 Wickets: Rajasthan Royals and India leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal became the first Indian bowlers to take 350 wickets in T20s.
Chahal, who will represent India in the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup, is currently playing for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL.
He is RR’s highest wicket-taker this season, having scalped 14 batters. While his form in the last six games has been below par, he played a major role in his side’s early success in the tournament, taking 10 wickets in the first five games.
The Haryana-based leggie is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history. In 156 games in the league, he has taken a staggering 201 wickets.

He took 139 wickets for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in nine seasons, becoming the franchise’s highest wicket-taker, before jumping to RR and taking 62 wickets in less than three full seasons. He even won the Purple Cap for the first time in his first season with the Royals in 2022.
Not only that, but Chahal is also the highest wicket-taker for India in T20 International, picking 96 wickets in 80 matches.
Yuzvendra Chahal 1st Indian To 350 T20 Wickets
Chahal took his 350th T20 wicket in RR’s most recent match against the Delhi Capitals when he dismissed captain Rishabh Pant.
Yuzu is the highest Indian in terms of T20 wickets and is ahead of Piyush Chawla in second with 310 wickets. Chahal’s fellow RR bowler, Ravichandran Ashwin, rounds out the top three with 303 wickets.
While Yuzvendra Chahal might be the highest T20 wicket-taker for India, he only ranks 11th on the all-time list in this format. DJ Bravo tops the list for most wickets in the format with 625. However, most bowlers above Yuzvendra on that list have played far more matches than him.
Despite Chahal taking a wicket against DC after not doing so in the last two matches, the Royals went on to lose the match by 20 runs and are second on the IPL table with 16 points in 11 matches. They will face the Chennai Super Kings in their next match on May 11 in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
