He didn’t leave out the hot question of who would serve India behind the stumps. Answering that, the former T20 master picked Rajasthan Royals Skipper Sanju Samson and Delhi Capitals’ Rishab Pant. Both players have been in impressive form in the ongoing IPL.
Yuvraj showed his administration towards veteran Dinesh Karthik but opined that the younger players are in better form. Yuvraj also completely snubbed KL Rahul from the wicketkeeper conversation.
“Though DK has been batting well lately, he was picked for the 2022 T20 World Cup but didn’t get to play. If he won’t be in the starting XI this time, it may not make sense to pick him over younger options like Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson, who are in great form. While DK’s experience is valuable, if he’s picked,” he said.
Yuvraj also mentioned CSK’s Shivam Dube and talked about how impactful he could be in the middle order.
“Would like to see Shivam Dube because he is in impressive form. Although he has struggled with consistency in the past, his recent batting performances prove that he can be a game-changing asset for the team. His inclusion could provide a much-needed spark,” he added.
