WWE Planning Intergender Match For Rhea Ripley: WWE might be planning to book an intergender wrestling match for their women’s superstar Rhea Ripley, who has been portrayed as the most dominant wrestler in the women’s division.
Rhea, who is a former multi-time world champion, is currently embroiled in a feud with the Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and the Judgment Day. A former member of the faction, she was kicked out of the stable when defending her title against Morgan at SummerSlam earlier this year.
During that match, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio betrayed Rhea to partner up with Liv, costing ‘Mami’ the title in the process. Dom switching sides was a major swerve in this ongoing feud.
The Ripley vs Morgan feud, which has been going on for months at this point, saw another name get added to it. Raquel Rodriguez, who is a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Liv, joined the world champion and helped her win her match against Rhea Ripley at the Bad Blood premium live event earlier this month.
But maybe even more than the title, this feud is about Dominik Mysterio. While he is unable to wrestle Rhea so far, he is physically involved in this feud every week on Monday Night RAW. Each week, he either saves Liv Morgan from an attack from Ripley or is attacked by Rhea himself. He has also faced off against Damian Priest, who has teamed up with The Eradicator in her feud with the Judgment Day.
WWE Planning Intergender Match For Rhea Ripley
It is now being reported by WrestleVotes that an intergender match between Rhea Ripley and Dominik might be in the works. In a recent Q&A with Bill Apter, they reported,
“I know it’s been brought up. Unfortunately, I don’t know how high it has made it. There’s a real desire on some level of creative to do this match before the angle phases out.”
Intergender matches have been out of style for WWE ever since the product went PG in 2008. While there have been a few outliers, like Becky Lynch facing James Ellsworth in 2017, we expect that the company will not put up matches of this kind on national TV anymore. And that particular match saw Becky utterly dominate Ellsworth in a comedy-type matchup.
However, on the independent circuit, intergender matches are fairly common. Several current WWE superstars wrestled in such matches before their time with the company.
So will Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio wrestle each other on WWE TV? If this happens, we can expect Rhea to be physically dominant.
