WI vs IND 2nd Test Day 1 Highlights and Report: West Indies’s comeback by slaying four wickets was soon neutralized by the ‘strong’ innings of Virat Kohli, who is playing his 500th international match with a bunch of records to break, along with Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Their partnership has created an unbroken 106 runs on the scoreboard, in which Kohli is closer to getting his 76th century by scoring 87 runs.
Blazing Start by Rohit and Yashasvi
After a scintillating century in the last Test, Yashasvi looked like he was on a mission for another spectacle. In fact, he was until the West Indies gave the first knock to India, snagging his wicket when the score was 139.
‘Well yeah, it’s just a wicket, and we have Rohit in form!’ This might have gone through the minds of Indian fans. But, West Indies gave them another disappointment when Rohit Sharma (80) fell in front of Jomel Warrican, who flummoxed the Indian skipper with a peach of a delivery. According to WI vs IND 2nd Test Day 1 Highlights and Report, West Indies’ ferocious attack didn’t stop there, as they took two quick wickets to crumble India to 184/4. But again, Virat Kohli and Ravinder Jadeja wore the saviour’s shirt to take India to an inspiring total of 288/4 on the first day.
Saviour’s in the Cockpit
After the quick knock on the head from West Indies, Virat and Jadeja started on the back foot, playing cautiously by relying on singles and doubles. When the innings seemed stable, Kohli opened the boundary deadlock by sending Kemar Roach’s delivery to the covers for a four. Jadeja soon showed off what he can do with the bat by exploiting Roach’s delivery to hit the boundary with a beautiful cover drive shot.

“Whenever I bat, I always try to bat for long. There’s of course disappointment when we get out. It’s cricket, we need to keep learning what we can do next time. It’s always a pleasure to play for the country, to enjoy the pressure, to enjoy the situation, enjoy the wicket, the environment.”
