Based on Winner of The Deodhar Trophy in 2019-20, The entire 2019 edition of the competition took place at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. Hanuma Vihari, Parthiv Patel, and Shubman Gill captained the India A, India B, and India C teams, respectively.
In the first match of the tournament, India A faced off against India B, with the latter emerging victorious by a margin of 108 runs. Following the league stage, India C and India B secured their spots in the finals, with India C earning eight points and India B earning four points. Unfortunately, India A lost both of their matches and did not qualify for the finals.

Parthiv Patel, the captain of India B, won the toss and chose to bat first. Unfortunately, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who had been the hero of the opening match, was dismissed without scoring any runs in the very first over. With the score at 92-4 at the halfway mark of the innings, India B found themselves in a challenging position. However, it was Kedar Jadhav who stepped up and turned the tide in their favor.
Kedar played a fantastic innings, compiling 86 runs off 94 deliveries with the support of four fours and four sixes. He formed a crucial partnership with Nitish Rana, rescuing the team’s position. Vijay Shankar and Krishnappa Gowtham also contributed with quickfire cameos, which helped elevate the final score to 283-7. Among the bowlers from India C, Ishan Porel stood out, finishing with impressive figures of 5-43.
In response, India C captain Shubman Gill was dismissed early by Mohammed Siraj. Although Priyam Garg showcased a solid performance at the No.3 position, he found himself stranded at one end as wickets fell rapidly at the other.
After a solid start at 56-1, the team faced a sudden collapse, plummeting to 77-5 in a short span of time. Even experienced batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik fell victim to the spin tactics employed by Shahbaz Nadeem.
India C did put up a fight as the lower order batsmen Axar Patel, Jalaj Saxena, and Mayank Markande contributed with some runs. However, their efforts proved to be insufficient and came too late in the game. India C concluded their innings with a total of 232-9, falling short of the target by 51 runs.
In the 2019 Deodhar Trophy, Baba Aparajith of India B emerged as the top run-scorer, accumulating an impressive total of 167 runs. On the other hand, Jalaj Saxena of India C claimed the title of the leading wicket-taker, taking an impressive 10 wickets throughout the tournament.
