After playing on two spin-friendly tracks in Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam for the first two Tests, the series will now move to a Stadium that is considered to be a batter’s paradise.
The pitches in this stadium see the ball come nicely onto the bat, with bowlers struggling to provide consistent challenges to the batsmen.
The boundaries here are short too, with the average distance to the rope being from 55-62m. The longest side is down the ground on the VVS Laxman End, where the boundary measures up to 64m in length.
With India and England playing for a lead in the series, the batting-friendly conditions of the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium might result in this match ending in a draw. Although, England’s ‘Bazball’ style of play makes that outcome quite unlikely.
