WBBL 2025-26 Schedule: The Womens Big Bash League enters its eleventh season on November 9, running through to a December 13 final. The Melbourne Renegades, last year’s winners, will begin their defence against an increasingly internationalised competition.

The player draft on June 19 confirmed that the WBBL is now as much a global market as a domestic league. Sydney Sixers claimed England’s Sophia Dunkley with the first pick, while Adelaide Strikers secured Sophie Ecclestone. Brisbane Heat retained Jemimah Rodrigues, Hobart Hurricanes kept Danni Wyatt, and Sydney Thunder held onto Heather Knight. Other notable arrivals include Nat Sciver-Brunt for the Hurricanes, Laura Wolvaardt for the Strikers and Shabnim Ismail for the Thunder.

Squads across the eight franchises feature an eclectic blend of World Cup winners, associate recruits and homegrown hopefuls. Amy Jones and Marizanne Kapp join Meg Lanning at Melbourne Stars; Sophie Devine leads a Perth Scorchers unit also boasting Beth Mooney and Alana King; Ellyse Perry captains a Sixers side reinforced by Amelia Kerr and Mady Villiers.

Matches will be staged across six venues: Adelaide’s Karen Rolton Oval, Brisbane’s Allan Border Field, Hobart’s Bellerive Oval, Melbourne’s CitiPower Centre, Perth’s WACA Ground and Sydney’s North Sydney Oval.

The tournament’s compressed window-just five weeks-will test player depth, travel endurance and fixture congestion. But the accumulation of star power ensures WBBL 2025-26 will again serve as both a proving ground for the domestic game and a showcase for the sport’s international elite.
