VVS Laxman to Coach Team India: The Indian team’s performance has been nothing but a dream run at this World Cup in 2023. With stellar performances from the whole team, whether it be batting, fielding, or bowling, all the players were in their supreme form.
Winning eight out of eight league matches and then winning the semi-final against the mighty Kiwis (New Zealand) showed a team India had never seen on the field. Almost every Indian had already dreamt of winning the cup, even before the final against the Australian team. What made this match more emotional were the memories of the 2002 World Cup Final, where India had to face a one-sided defeat from Australia.
Rahul Dravid, once a player for the team, is now coaching the side. It seemed like every player and Indian fan wanted to win the World Cup for him. However, as cricket fans are still coping with the loss, there are now talks that the World Cup 2023 not only marks the end of the tournament but also signals the conclusion of Rahul Dravid’s time as the head coach of the Indian team.

With Rahul’s two-year contract coming to an end with this campaign, VVS Laxman’s name is coming up as a successor as coach of the team.
Laxman has shown a lot of willingness to lead the team India as a coach and has also met the senior authorities of BCCI during the World Cup campaign.
It will be exciting to see how the team India performs under the new coach, as it will be a transition from a cool and calm coach to one whose on-field antics are a lot talked about.
Currently, India is playing a four-match T20I series with Australia and taking one tournament at a time.
