Virat Kohli Seen Enjoying Time In London: Indian cricketing icon Virat Kohli was seen walking down the street in London carrying shopping bags with his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma. This is possible because Kohli will be missing the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
The 35-year-old last represented India in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, a series that the Lankans won 2-0. But right before that, he was a crucial part of the 2024 T20 World Cup squad. While his performances throughout the tournament were lacklustre, The King scored a crucial knock of 76 in 59 deliveries to take the team to a respectable score of 176.
After the Men in Blue won the match by seven runs and won their first World Cup in 13 years, Kohli, along with Ravindra Jadeja and captain Rohit Sharma, announced his retirement from T20Is.

In a recent clip of his that went viral, he, along with Anushka Sharma, was seen crossing a street in London. Virat could be seen wearing an oversized pink t-shirt and carrying the shopping bags.
This sabbatical has only been made possible because the veteran batter is allowed to skip the ongoing Bychi Babu Invitational Tournament and the upcoming Duleep Trophy.
After the tour to Sri Lanka, there was a break of about a month and a half in the schedule of the Indian Cricket Team. To keep the players in playing form, BCCI mandated all the national team players to participate in domestic cricket tournaments, especially in the Dullep Trophy. Even the likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant, and T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav will be playing in the upcoming competition.
However, the mandate does not extend to super-seniors like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, players who are nearing the end of their international careers but are still a crucial part of the Indian Cricket Team. Playing domestic cricket is also not mandatory for highly injury-prone players like Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
Kohli has not played any Test cricket since January of this year against South Africa. He even missed the five-Test series against England. However, he will make his white ball return next month when he rejoins the team for the two-Test series against Bangladesh, which will be played in India, and will likely also play Test matches against New Zealand and Australia later this year.
India is currently on top of the 2023-25 World Test Championship table. With three major series ahead of them before the final, two of them being away against Australia and England, it will be an achievement if India is able to keep their top spot and appear in their third WTC final.
