Virat Kohli out of England Tests: India’s Virat Kohli won’t be available for the initial two Test matches against England. The 35-year-old opted himself out due to personal reasons, as per BCCI.

BCCI issued a statement on Monday that the former captain wouldn’t be available for initial matches due to ‘personal situations that demand his undivided attention’.
“Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.”

BCCI also said that they are confident in the rest of the squads to perform well in the series in the absence of the star player.
“The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series,” added the board.
The board also requested that the fans respect Kohli’s privacy and not speculate about it. They also requested that the fans support the team for the upcoming challenges.
“The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series.”
The first test will kick off in Hyderabad on January 25.
