Virat Kohli Might Miss Warm Up Game Vs Bangladesh: Virat Kohli might end up missing India’s warm-up game against Bangladesh ahead of the T20 World Cup due to paperwork issues.
Kohli was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad for the Eliminator match of the IPL 2024 against the Rajasthan Royals. Due to him being in the playoffs, Virat was not part of the first batch of Indian players to leave for the United States for the World Cup, which included the likes of captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Also not part of the batch of Indian players already in the US is Hardik Pandya, who is currently in London preparing for the tournament. He will join up with the team in a couple of days.
Virat Kohli Might Miss Warm Up Game Vs Bangladesh
As for Virat Kohli, it is being reported that there was some delay with his paperwork. He will now fly out to the United States on May 30.
India will take on Bangladesh in their only warm-up match ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup on June 1 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, New York. The match being only a day after Kohli arrives in the US, he might end up missing the game.
Virat Kohli was in solid form in the recent IPL 2024. With 741 runs in 15 games, an average of 61, and a strike rate of 154, Kohli will be winning the Orange Cap for the season.
As for India, they will be in Group A of the tournament with arch-rival Pakistan, Ireland, and co-hosts the US and Canada.
India will face Ireland in their opening match of the 2024 T20 World Cup on June 5. They will then take on Pakistan in one of the biggest matches of the tournament on June 8. The match against the United States comes next on June 12, followed by the Men in Blue’s last league game against Canada on June 15.
The players already in the US are Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Khaleel Ahmed.
