Victory Gyökeres to Arsenal? Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal responded to the news of him being linked with Premier League giants Arsenal
Gyökeres, who is the world’s most in-demand striker in the world, has been linked with a lot of clubs in Europe, with the Gunners being the front-runners.
Viktor Gyökeres concluded his season much as he had played it: emphatically. Sporting’s 3-1 victory over Benfica in the Portuguese Cup final completed a domestic double, adding the trophy to their league title. The match itself was a nervous, attritional affair, given new life by Gyökeres’ late intervention.
Benfica had struck first through Orkun Kökçü, and it appeared enough until the eleventh minute of stoppage time, when Gyökeres converted from the spot to level the match and send it into extra time. It was an equaliser, not of grandeur but of pressure and precision.
From there, Sporting pressed their advantage. Conrad Harder and Francisco Trincão added the goals that secured the cup, leaving Benfica adrift and Gyökeres’ season gilded with both silverware and statistics. His final tally—53 goals and 13 assists in 51 appearances—is a record that speaks for itself, as does his role in delivering the decisive moment on Portuguese football’s grand stage.

Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal? Star Responds to the Gooners Links
After the match, the Lisbon star was asked about his transfer links to Arsenal. Gyökeres was careful with his words, but dropped enough for the world to speculate
“Let us see,” he said. “It’s hard for me to say, because yeah, it is football, and you never know what’s going to happen in the summer. So for me to say anything else than that is impossible.”
Asked regarding the Arsenal transfer, he added: “I don’t know, I just focus on this. I’ve tried to focus on the last games because it’s so important and I don’t want to think about anything else. So yeah, if anything is true, let’s see in the summer.”
