UFC Lightweight Picks Belal to Win Over Shavkat: UFC Lightweight fighter Renato Moicano thinks that Belal Muhammad will make it look easy against Shavkat Rakhmonov when the two eventually fight. Belal is currently the welterweight champion, and Shavkat is the No. 1 contender.
Belal Mohammed beat Leon Edwards in the main event of UFC 304 on July 27, 2024, to bag the gold. Leon, who had already beaten Welterweight legend Kumaru Usman twice, was the favorite to win the fight against Belal. But Belal dismantled his opponent and became the undisputed champion.
On the other hand, Shavkat Rakhmonov has a perfect record of 19-0, of which 18 are finishes. But in the last match Ian Garry, which was anticipated to be his toughest, Shavkat couldn’t finish his opponent for the first time in his UFC career. In fact, the Kazakh fighter was not in his usual aggressive form against Garry.
This made the MMA community rethink the ‘boogeyman’ status that they have been giving to Shavkat.

As Shavkat is next in line for the title fight, Renato Moicano is favouring Belal to win the contest.
“My money is on Belal Muhammad… I think Shavkat is not the boogeyman like they said. I think Belal Muhammad will make it look easy… Who is the best fighter that [Garry and Rakhomonv] have faced? Probably Geoff Neal, they both fought Geoff Neal… [Rakhmonov] looked good because he finished all his fights. But Belal Muhammad is good at what he does.”
