UFC 297 Complete Fight Card: UFC 297 will take place at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on January 20th, making it the MMA promotion’s 7th pay-per-view in Canada. Named Strickland vs. du Plessis, the event will be main-evented by the UFC Middleweight Championship bout between the champ Sean Strickland and challenger Dricus du Plessis.
UFC 297 Complete Fight Card: Ultimate Fighting Championship
12 fights have been announced to take place at the event. While Five of them are part of the main card, four fights will take place in the Preliminary Card, and three fights will take place in the Early Prelim Card.
At UFC 293, a massive underdog Sean Strickland took on Middleweight Champion Israel Idesanya. Despite being a 7/1 favorite, Adesanya lost the fight via unanimous decision and Strickland shocked the world.

Now in his first title defiance, Sean Strickland will take on South African strike-artist Dicius du Plessis. Ever since making his UFC debut in October 2020, du Plessis has been undefeated in his six-fight career in the promotion. As per the UFC 297 Complete Fight Card, In his most recent fight, Dricus defeated the then #1 ranked Middleweight Robert Whittaker via TKO at UFC 290 to book his title challenge here.
The co-main event of the night is also a big money match between Raquel Pennington vs Mayra Bueo Silva for the vacant UFC Women’s Bantamweight title. This title was vacated when the legendary Amanda Nunes announced her retirement immediately following the title at UFC 289 against Irene Aldana.

In the rest of the Main Card, Mike Mallot will be looking to enter the Welterweight rankings as he takes on the #13 contender in the division Neil Magny. In a similar scenario, Middleweight Marc-Andre Barriault looks to enter the division’s rankings when he takes on #13-ranked Chris Curtis. And lastly, Arnold Allen will take on the undefeated Movsar Evloev in a Featherweight bout.
The Preliminary Card will see Brad Katona take on Garrett Armfield in a Bantamweight fight, while Charles Jourdain will face 4-1-1 in the UFC Sean Woodson. A Bantamweight bout between Serhiy Sidey and Ramon Taveras has also been booked. In the last fight of the Preliminary Card, Gillian Robertson will face Polyana Viana in a Women’s Strawweight fight.
The Early Preliminary card will see a Flyweight fight between a 2-4 UFC record Malcolm Gordon take on Jimmy Flick. There will also be a Women’s Flyweight Fight between Jasmine Jasudavicius and a 4-5 Priscila Cachoeira. The third and last fight of this portion of the night will be a Welterweight bout between Yohan Lainesse and Sam Patterson.
