UCL Quarter Final Draw Revealed
1) Paris Saint Germain vs FC Barcelona
PSG did not have the best group stage in the UCL this season. As part of the ‘Group of Death’ alongside Dortmund, AC Milan, and Newcastle United, the Kylian Mbappe-led side finished second in the group. They then trumped Real Sociedad in the Round of 16 4-1 on aggregate.
On the other hand, Barca topped their group but faced a tricky Napoli side in the first knockout round, which they won 4-1.
2) Athletico Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund
Both of these teams are not having the best season in their national league. Both – Athletico and Dortmund are currently fourth in the La Liga and Bundesliga standings respectively and are out of the title race.
However, both of these teams topped their own UCL groups and made it to the knockouts in style. While the yellow and blacks thrashed PSV 3-1 in the round of 16, Athletico Madrid pipped last year’s finalists Inter Milan on penalties after the aggregate sat on 2-2.

On the other hand, Bayern are in deep-deep trouble this season. While they are second on the table, they are 10 points behind league leaders Bayern Leverkusen. The second spot is just not acceptable for Munich.
Both these teams finished on top of their UCL groups. While Bayern advanced 3-1 against Lazio, Arsenal had to defeat Porto on penalties in the round of 16.
4) Real Madrid vs Manchester City
This is the most high-profile match-up not only of the UCL quarter-final draw but across football in general. Real Madrid, the kings of the UCL taking on defending champions Manchester City. It will come as no surprise that both these teams won all their UCL group matches and then comfortably won the round of 16.
Real Madrid are on top of La Liga and on course of winning another title. It has been one of the best teams in the world this season, arguably only behind Manchester City, who are currently third in a closely contested Premier League table.
This is also a repeat of one of the semi-finals of last year’s Champions League. Then, Man City defeated Los Blancos en route to their first UCL title.
