It is safe to say that WWE is in yet another golden period. For the first time since the much-lauded Attitude Era over 20 years ago, professional wrestling is in the mainstream and WWE is at the helm of this boom period.
The biggest reason for this being the case is the change in upper management. After Vince McMahon left the position of chairman of the WWE in 2022, Triple H stepped in as the head of booking. Since then TV shows and the Premium Live vents have been must-watch.
The storylines have been interesting, the results have been logical and the characters have been intriguing under the guidance of Triple H. With several new characters coming up and becoming household names under this regime, the top superstars in this era have been some of the best.
With all that being said, we are here to answer a question. Who are the top WWE superstars in the year 2024, who has had a fantastic year up to this point and who is on the top of the food chain in the company? These are the top five WWE superstars of 2024.

Roman Reigns was the Undisputed WWE Champion of four years coming into this year before losing his title at WrestleMania 40. Seth Rollins came into this year as the World Heavyweight Champion and lost at ‘Mania. Bayley won the Women’s Royal Rumble in January and won the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40. Iyo Sky was the Women’s Champion before losing the title to Bayley.
Nia Jax won the Queen of the Ring and defeated Bayley at Summerslam for her title. Sami Zayn defeated Gunther at WrestleMania and ended his historical Intercontinental title reign. CM Punk wrestled for WWE for the first time in a decade and was a must-watch despite being injured for months. Solo Sikoa has become the new head of The Bloodline And finally, Jey Uso has been one of, if not the most popular babyface in the company
Top Five WWE Superstars Of 2024
5) Rhea Ripley
Despite missing out on three months of action due to injury, Rhea Ripley was still the top women’s WWE Superstar of 2024. She came into this year after arguably being the top-most star in the company in 2023, winning what later became the Women’s World Championship from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39.
After defending her title against Ivy Nile on the January 1 episode of RAW, her first major title defence in 2024 came at the Elimination Chamber, which was in her home country of Australia. On that show, she defended her title in the main event in a solid match against Nia Jax. At WrestleMania 40, she had a brilliant title defence against Becky Lynch.
The Judgment Day member was injured by Liv Morgan on the RAW after WrestleMania, which forced her to relinquish her title after a year-long title reign. But she returned in July and stepped into a fan-favourite storyline with Morgan and Dominik Mysterio, the most recent twist which came during the Women’s World title match between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan at Summerslam.
4) Damian Priest
The de-facto leader of the Judgment Day grew into one of the biggest stars in WWE. Coming into 2024 as the Senor Money in the Bank, Priest cashed in his briefcase at the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania 40. After Drew McIntyre won the World Heavyweight Championship at the show, he was attacked by CM Punk. Priest took advantage of the situation, cashed in, and became a world champion for the first time in his WWE career.
As the champion, not only did the Archer of Infamy grow better in the ring, but also became one of the most believable WWE Superstars of the mic. He had excellent title defences against Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre, and Seth Rollins. The match against Gunther at Summerslam, which was the end of his title reign, will be a Match of the Year contender.
Damian Priest now has a red-hot storyline with Finn Balor, who betrayed Priest at Summerslam, ahead of him, making the remaining months of 2024 exciting for the former World Heavyweight Champion.
3) Drew McIntyre
Despite being the World Heavyweight Champion for just five minutes at WrestleMania 40 before Damian Priest cashed in on him, Drew McIntyre has been the most exciting character on WWE TV this year. He was a heel for the first time in years coming into 2024. After a wonderful performance in the Royal Rumble, he won the Elimination Chamber for a world title match at WrestleMania. At ‘Mania 40, he defeated Seth Rollins for the title before losing it himself minutes later due to CM Punk.
For the last few months, his chase for the title and his rivalry with an injured CM Punk has been some of the most exciting stuff in WWE. HE challenged Priest for the WOrld EHavyweight Championship in his home country of Scotland at Clash at the Castle but was screwed by Punk. He won the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashed it in on the same night during the Priest vs Rollins match but was screwed by Punk once more.
At Summerslam, CM Punk wrestled his first singles WWE PLE match in over 10 years against Drew McIntyre, with the latter picking up the win there. But the rivalry is not over and will likely go on for the remainder of this year.

2) Gunther
The Ring General has the claim to being the best WWE Superstar of 2024. Gunther started this year off as the Intercontinental Champion of 500 days. Already having the longest reign in the history of the historic title, he defeated the likes of Chad Gable and Jey Uso in the leadup to WrestleMania 40. At that show his 666-day reign ended at the hands of Sami Zayn in what likely was the best match of the year.
Since losing the IC title, Gunther started his pursuit of the World Heavyweight Championship. He first won the King of the Ring tournament for a shot at the title at Summerslam, defeating Randy Orton in the final. He then won the world title in an awesome match against Damian Priest.
Gunther is the face of in-ring wrestling in WWE. Not only that, he has also developed a despised character, making him a must-watch superstar whenever he is on the TV.
1) Cody Rhodes
Who else but Cody Rhodes will be number one on the list of top WWE superstars of 2024? The American Nightmare has become the face of WWE and the most popular superstar in the company. He has also had a major role in wrestling’s ongoing boom period as he is now a mainstream celebrity.
Cody started the year by winning the Royal Rumble for the second year in a row. Then came what might be the best WWe rivalry of the decade against The Rock, who came back to the company with a new persona. On Night One of WrestleMania 40, Rhoades and Seth Rollins took on The Rock and Roman Reigns in the biggest tag-team match in WWE history. On Night Two, he challenged Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and won in a match filled with cameos.
Since then, Cody Rhoades has been the flagbearer of WWE, the face of the brand and its champion. He has also had spectacular title defenses against the likes of AJ Styles (a Match of the Year candidate), Logan Paul, and Solo Sikoa. All this puts Cody Rhodes on top of the list of the top five WWE Superstars of 2024
