Top 5 Fastest IPL Centuries In History: The Indian Premier League has hosted many of the most attacking batters in the history of this sport. Since its inception in 2008, some of the best cricketers, batters and bowlers have played in this league.
The IPL was present near the very beginning of T20 cricket, starting just a year after the inaugural World Cup in the format. So the evolution of the sport and the format has gone through this league. This makes it natural that some quick 100s have been scored in the IPL.
Today, we will look at the top 5 fastest IPL centuries in history. These are the quickest tons scored in this league, by balls faced.
Top 5 Fastest IPL Centuries In History
5) Travis Head – SRH Vs RCB (2024)
Travis Head spearheaded the Sunrisers Hyderabad batting order, the team that played a massive role in changing the approach of T20 cricket across the world. The team’s and Head’s magnum opus in 2024 came against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Batting first, SRH scored the highest total in IPL history, 287/3. Their highest scorer was Travis Head, who had made 102 runs off 41 deliveries. He scored his century in just 39 balls, making him, at the time, the fourth fastest centurion in the IPL, and now he is the fifth fastest.
4) David Miller – KXIP Vs RCB (2013)
David Miller’s breakout season in the IPL for the Punjab Kings (then the Kings XI Punjab) was something spectacular. He scored 418 runs in 12 games that season and even scored a 100 that went down in the history books.
Chasing a target of 191 in Mohali against RCB, Punjab lost four wickets in the first 10 overs at the score of 65. But then came Miller, who scored a hundred in just 38 balls without getting out and rescued his team, chasing the target down in just 18 overs.
3) Yusuf Pathan – RR Vs MI (2010)
For the longest time, this was the fastest IPL century by an Indian. And for the first five seasons of the league. It was also the fastest hundred in the league at the time. By the time 2010 came around, Yusuf Pathan was a known name in the IPL and a national team regular.
In the second match of the season, RR took on the Mumbai Indians and were chasing a target of 213. For the Royals, four wickets fell in the first 10 overs at the score of 66. Yusuf then took charge and scored 100 in 37 deliveries before getting run out. Rajasthan lost that match by four runs.

2) Vaibhav Suryavanshi – RR Vs GT (2025)
This might be one of the greatest moments in cricket history. The 14-year-old boy from Bihar was even selected to play in the league, which was a massive deal in its own right. But his scoring the fastest second-fastest ton in IPL history makes it one of the most memorable moments in league history.
RR took on the Gujarat Titans at home and were chasing a 210-run target. This allowed the opening pair of Vaibhav and Yashasvi Jaiswal to wreak havoc. And while Jaiswal scored 70 off 40, Suryavanshi scored the 100 in just 35 deliveries, which is the fastest hundred by an Indian in the Indian Premier League.
1) Chris Gayle – RCB Vs PWI (2013)
The greatest inning in IPL history and arguably of all time across all formats. Chris Gayle, a legend of the league and of the game. He won the Orange Cap twice and played some of the greatest innings in T20 cricket in the IPL, with the best one being this.
RCB took on the Pune Warriors India, and Gayle went berserk. He made the highest individual score in IPL history that day, 175 off 66. But even more impressively, his century came in just 30 balls, which is still the fastest hundred in the history of this league.
