2) Shakib Al Hasan
First of two players on this list to have played in every T20 World Cup so far, Shakib Al Hasan is certainly in the conversation of being the greatest allrounder of the 21st century. The Bangladeshi maestro has been a massive part of his side since the 2007 edition, where he helped his team make it out of the group stage.
In the 26 games he has played in the tournament, Shakib has scored 742 runs and taken 47 wickets. In fact, he is the highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup.
Shakib Al Hasan will play a massive role in whatever success Bangladesh achieves in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
1) Rohit Sharma
Like Shakib Al Hasan, Rohit Sharma has played in each edition of the T20 World Cup so far. But being part of a genuine contender, Rohit has played the most games in the 20 World Cup, despite not being the most important player in his team for the first few tournaments.
Sharma made his ICC tournament debut in the 2007 T20 World Cup. And for the tournaments till 2012, he was a solid prospect player who lacked consistency. But after he became an opener in 2013, Rohit became one of the best limited-overs batters in the world.
Since then, he has played a few solid innings in the tournament and has become the player with the most matches played in the tournament with 39.
He captained India in the 2022 World Cup and will do so in 2024. In what might be his last T20 World Cup, Rohit would like to repeat the feat he and India achieved on their first crack at this tournament in 2007.
