3) Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid (2013): 4-1

The semi-final of the 2012-2013 UEFA Champions League presented some tasty contests, with the promise of even better bouts in the final. While Bayern Munich took on Barcelona in one semi-final, Borussia Dortmund took on Real Madrid. There was a decent chance that the final would either be an El Clásico or a Der Klassiker.
Real headed to Dortmund for the first time, and it ended in a disaster, as the BVB thrashed the Spanish side 4-1, with Robert Lewandowski scoring all the goals for Borussia, while Cristiano Ronaldo scored the solitary goal for Madrid. This match was one of the first matches where the whole world took notice of Lewandowski, who dismantled Real Madrid all on his own.
While Real did win the second leg at home 2-0, that was not enough to offset the deficit from the first set, as Borussia Dortmund headed to the final, only to lose to Bayern Munich.

2) AC Milan vs Real Madrid (1989): 5-0

AC Milan and Real Madrid are two of the biggest teams in UEFA Champions League history, with a combined 22 titles between them. The two giants faced off in the semi-final of the 1988-89 European Cup.
The first leg of the contest was played in Madrid and saw the two teams play a 1-1 draw. And with that, we headed to Milan for the second leg, where a massacre was about to happen.
AC fielded legends like Frank Rijkaard. Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, and current Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti on that day, all of whom scored in a 5-0 thrashing of the Spanish club. While Madrid lost 6-1 on aggregate, AC Milan went to the final, where they defeated Steaua București from Romania 4-0.
1) Manchester City vs Real Madrid (2023): 4-0

While it is true that Manchester City was the best team in the world this season, Real Madrid came into the 2022-23 season of the UCL as the defending champions, while the Cityzens had never won the competition, despite being a competitive team on the continent for over a decade at that point.
Manchester City vs Real Madrid was the semi-final of that season of the UCL. The first leg, played at the Santiago Bernabéu, finished in a 1-1 draw. Then came the second leg at the Etihad, and arguably the biggest defeat for Real in their loan UCL history.
It was a 4-0 humiliation of Los Blancos, with Bernardo Silva scoring twice in the first half, Manuel Akanji taking the game out of the Spanish giants’ reach, and Julian Alvarez adding a fourth for added embarrassment.
