Tim Moddy Thinks Jadeja Should Not Bat At 7: Ravindra Jadeja is having a poor IPL season this time. The all-rounder has become unreliable with his bat. But somehow the CSK player managed to get into India’s squad for the upcoming T200 World Cup. Former cricketer Tim Moody thinks it wasn’t a wise decision.

Moody thinks that Jadeja’s strike rate isn’t good enough for him to bat at 7. Though his spin is good, the all-rounder is having a lackluster performance with the bat lately. Moody said that India needs a power hitter at Number 7. He was talking on Star Sports.
“I would select Jadeja solely for his left-arm spin, which is the best in the country. However, in my team, he would not bat at number seven because his strike rate shows he lacks the power-hitting required from that position in a World Cup squad. The number seven needs to be a power hitter,” said Moody.
India’s former pace maestro Irfan Pathan green-ticked Moody’s views. For Jadeja to be batting at 7, India would need a strong finisher. As the Blues really have a hole in that area, Jadeja batting at 7 might not be a nice idea.
“My main concern about the World Cup is our batting order and lack of a strong finisher. For the T20 World Cup, our top order and middle-overs batting seem fairly settled. However, if Ravindra Jadeja bats at number seven, we will need a reliable finisher. Unfortunately, Jadeja’s strike rate is not very high at the international level,” Irfan said.
