After a dreadful season last year, Manchester United hoped for a fresh start by doing a lot of offloading and singing in terms of the squad. The new management agreed to sign many players that Eric Ten Hag wanted, and yet, when the season started and a giant like Liverpool went on their way, they fumbled and crumbled to the canvas.
The 3-0 loss to the archrivals put Ten Hag’s head under heat. Even after all the transfers, the Dutchman is struggling with his tactics. Ten Hag’s unconditional love for Marcus Rashford has also put him under the gunpoint. Rashford hasn’t scored since March and still starts for United despite Amad Diallo being on their sidelines.
Ten Hag Ignorant In Liverpool Defeat?
Ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports, claimed that they would catch up and go for trophies. In his usual tone, he highlighted the positives even in this dreadful defeat.
“We have many games to play and I know where we will be in the end of the season. Many games, many weeks, and we will go for trophies. I don’t have the feeling that we are in the same pattern. It was sometimes too open. I have seen good things but I don’t want to talk about them after a 3-0 defeat at Liverpool. … We have to freshen up the dressing room. Today, first half for Matthijs de Light, first start for Joshua Zirkzee. We will catch up and we will come back.”
