Showcasing his recovery and time away from the sport, Suryakumar recently shared a video on Instagram. The video saw him walking with the help of a crutch as the background audio was the popular “Meri ek taang nakli hai” dialogue from the 2007 comedy ‘Welcome’.

In the caption of the video, Suryakumar opened up about dealing with injuries, then claiming that he will be back “in no time.”
“On a slightly serious note, injuries are never fun, but I’ll take it in my stride and promise to be back, fully fit, in no time! Till then, hope you all are enjoying the holiday season and finding little joys, every day.”

What looks clear from that video is that SKY will miss India’s three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in January. This was confirmed by a source to the Indian Express –
“He will take time to get back into the field. Suryakumar Yadav will report to the National Cricket Academy for his rehabilitation. He will miss the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.”
Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out till February 2024 due to a Grade II tear in his ankle. He is most likely to miss some cricket even beyond that time frame. The Mumbai Indians batter is expected to take the field in IPL 2024.
