SRH vs MI Match Highlights And Report-IPL: In the most incredible, record-breaking display of six-hitting in a T20 game, the Sunrisers Hyderabad held their nerves better than the Mumbai Indians to clinch a 31-run win at their home ground.
While the margin of 31 runs may seem significant in T20 cricket, at one point MI really threatened to gun down SRH’s IPL record total of 277 runs.
38 sixes were overall hit by the two teams combined, which is now the world record for a T20 game. The 523 runs scored in the match is also the highest aggregate in an IPL game. This was the first time four bowlers conceded more than 50 runs in an IPL match. These are just a few of the records that were broken tonight.

Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pandya would have had no idea what carnage was going to follow next. Travis Head came in the side after being on the bench in the first game and utterly dominated the powerplay with a flurry of boundaries.
Head blasted 59 (20) to take SRH’s total to 81/1 in the powerplay. On his debut for SRH and in his first IPL innings since 2017, Head created the record for the fastest fifty by an SRH batsman off 18 balls.
His record stood for 20 more minutes as young left-hander Abhishek Sharma reached the half-century milestone in only 16 balls. Abhishek walloped 7 sixes and 3 fours in his knock of 63 (23).
By the time Abhishek was dismissed, at the end of the 11th over, SRH had raced to 181, and MI’’s best bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, had bowled only one over as Hardik was saving him for Heinrich Klaasen.
As per SRH vs MI Match Highlights And Report-IPL, Interestingly, while Bumrah did manage to contain the runs, he could only bowl a maximum of four overs, in which he conceded 36 runs, making him the only MI bowler to have his economy in single digits.
Klaasen continued his marauding form from his knock against KKR and clobbered the MI bowlers for 4 fours and 7 sixes in his innings of 80* (34). At the other end, Markram scored 42* (28), and the two South Africans shared a huge partnership of 116* (55) that eventually took SRH’s total to 277, breaking RCB’s record of 263 from 2013.
In reply, Mumbai Indians came all guns blazing—they didn’t really have any other option, though—with Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma bringing up MI’s fifty in three overs. However, the openers were dismissed in succession.
Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma, two youngsters, showcased the exuberance of youth in their stand of 84 (37). MI were up to the required rate when Dhir was dismissed in the 11th over, with MI’s score being 150.
Hardik came in and got a couple of boundaries. However, there was a slowdown between overs 13–16, and that’s where MI fell considerably behind in the chase. Varma got out for 64 (34) and Hardik’s struggle of 24 (20) came to an end soon. Tim David did hammer 42 (22), but the game had gone beyond MI’s reach with Pandya’s slowdown. David’s lusty blows did mitigate the margin of loss for Mumbai.
Score summary: Sunrisers Hyderabad 277/3 in 20 overs (Heinrich Klaasen 80, Piyush Chawla 1/34); Mumbai Indians 246/5 in 20 overs (Tilak Varma 64, Pat Cummins 2/35). SRH defeated MI by 31 runs.
